What is a certified/recertified instruments? They are fully functional units ‘as removed from service’. All repairs and adjustments are made to bring these machines to full working condition and pass as new accuracy specifications. Inventory varies. Contact us for pricing and availability.

Optical Comparator Calibration

J&L Metrology is a customer-focused provider of high-quality calibration services to all industries world wide. Our goal as your quality calibration vendor is to provide calibration services that a) are metrologically valid, b) will be unquestioned by auditors and c) are easy to understand.

Our calibration service includes all types of optical comparators. Calibration techniques include aligning light source and screen with table, checking perpendicularity, parallelism and verifying magnification of all included lenses.

We provide on-site optical comparator calibration. We calibrate all makes and models of optical comparators, including Starrett, Mitutoyo, Nikon, Tamarack, Scherr Tumico and more. We calibrate each optical comparator at five points per axis and/or at custom test points established by you. All calibrations are traceable to the International System of Units (SI), established by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures, through the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). We can perform the optical comparator calibration either on site at your facility or at our calibration laboratory.

Service and Cleaning

Service and cleaning includes all types of optical comparators.  Service can include cleaning and repair of lenses, mirrors, micrometer heads, table and ways, turrets, radius glass charts, fans and ducts as necessary.

Service Contracts

Service contracts are availalbe for negotiated intervals and may consist of any or all of the above services.

Documentation

Our calibration services documentation and test reports show calibration information such as "as found" and "as left" data, next scheduled calibration, etc. We are continuously adding standards that facilitate our commitment to maintain our customers satisfaction.

Customer Support

Customers can rely on us to keep accurate records of all instrument calibrations. If any certificate of calibration is missing or has been destroyed by the help of our customer support agent you can get a duplicate certificate. We have historical documentation on our units dated back to the early part of the 20th century.

Traceability

All our calibration services are directly traceable to N.I.S.T. Our primary Calibration Standards are sent for calibration, in accordance with N.I.S.T. requirements and based on regular schedule as defined by our Quality Assurance Manual. Only approved laboratories and N.I.S.T themselves are used for these calibration services.
